Every full moon since August 2007, the artist Yuyanapaq has engaged in what he refers to as the full moon ritual... In his words, " man has lost touch with nature, with our Mother Earth, in a logarithmic escalation...  the full moon, which once commanded the night sky in a world void of city lights, neon signs, and traffic signals,  has lost some of its visual power in an ever encroaching metropolis ... we as artists must find ways to remember these celestial lights in meaningful ways as they guided our distant ancestors ... "   --  thus, every full moon, he partakes of a plant based guide  and proceeds to begin a painting, letting the plant dictate what he sees . . . . . . . . .
